If you are interested in contacts, you will need a contact lens exam in addition to a comprehensive eye exam.  Our doctor will measure the surface of your eyes to determine the correct size and type of contacts that are best for you.  A tear film evaluation is another test that may be done to make sure you have enough tears to comfortably wear your contacts.

An eyeglass prescription and contact lens prescription are different.  The eyeglass prescription measures for lenses that are positioned approximately 12 millimeters from your eyes. The contact lens prescription measures for lenses that sit directly on the surface of the eye. A proper contact lens fitting is essential for your best vision and health of your eyes.
